Wayne County fishing report by Chris Kenyon
Lake Ontario-The silver fish are forming a pattern after a few weeks of being scattered. They are hitting in 100 to 500 feet of water. Browns are down 70 to 90 feet.
Flasher flies and spoons are the usual bait. Riggers, dipseys and copper have been the presentations.
Smallmouths have been caught in drop-offs. It’s hard to gather any information, because there are few anglers targeting smallies in the lake.
Bays- Largemouths and pike are hitting in Sodus Bay. The pike have been in the weeds between the islands, especially LeRoy. The bass are everywhere.
Blind Sodus Bay has bass action on the east side.
Canal- Bass, catfish, and every pan fish imaginable have been caught in the canal. You can find fish the entire length of this historic waterway. The best launch is at the Widewaters Park.
